About the 770 Series
The 770 drafting mechanical pencil was born in 1978, at the height of the popularity of drafting mechanical pencils.
The shaft of the predecessor mechanical pencil was made entirely of plastic, but the use of metal in the grip section improved usability and durability.
The 770 mechanical pencil series was named "MARS-MICROGRAPH".
The name MARS-MICROGRAPH first appeared in the Staedtler catalog in 1974. It was in this same year that STAEDTLER Japan became independent from its trading company and was established as an independent company in Japan.
From then on, the product supported the work of many people for 16 years until it was discontinued in 1990. After it was discontinued, there were many requests for a re-release, but some parts could not be made with current technology, so it was difficult to make, and finally this year it was possible to re-release it.
